Co-chair Nominations
Author(s): SGM SIG Board
04/25/2019
We’re currently seeking nominations for a new co-chair to begin their 3 year term at the 2019 convention in November. Self-nominations are encouraged!
The main responsibilities of the co-chair are to work with the other co-chair and the student representatives to organize and facilitate annual convention activities (e.g., SIG-sponsored symposia, the SIG poster session, the SIG meeting), communicate with the SIG membership (including on our social media platforms), and communicate with the broader ABCT leadership to promote SGM inclusion. Co-chairs are also encouraged to develop new initiatives to continue to advance the mission of the SIG and the interests of our members.
Being a co-chair is highly rewarding and it’s a great way to get more involved in the SIG, to give back to your academic/professional community, and to ensure that SGM interests are represented within the organization. Co-chairs are typically post-doctoral fellows or faculty. In the interest of diverse representation, we encourage nominees who represent perspectives that aren’t currently represented in our leadership.
You can nominate yourself or a colleague. To submit a nomination, please email us at ABCTSGMSIG@gmail.com and include the following information about the nominee:
(1) name;
(2) degree;
(3) current position and affiliation
Nominations are due by June 1st. We’ll follow up with nominees to discuss next steps.
If you have any questions, please email Brian Feinstein (brian.feinstein@northwestern.edu) and/or Jae Puckett (pucket26@msu.edu).
