Mentoring Program
In 2018, the SGM SIG launched a mentorship program. The goals of the program are to provide our members with a mechanism for giving and receiving mentorship related to research, clinical practice, professional development, and—for many of our members—navigating these domains as SGM-identified professionals.
Mentor/mentee pairs are assigned based on mutual interests and needs. Mentorship relationships are expected to last at least one year (longer if desired by both parties) and they are informally structured (i.e., the specifics of each mentorship relationship are determined by the mentor/mentee pair). In addition to assigning the mentor/mentee pairs, the SIG provides a list of potential mentorship topics to facilitate discussion.
Enrollment in the mentorship program occurs annually. Announcements will be made on the SIG listserv, website, and social media platforms to notify members of the dates of open enrollment each year.
If you have any questions about the mentorship program, please contact us at [email protected].
