GRADUATE TRAINING
Annually since 2018, the SGM SIG has compiled a list of mentors accepting graduate students with a focus on sexual and gender minority health. This has resulted in a fairly comprehensive list of faculty members from a variety of programs (e.g., Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Public Health, and others) interested in supporting students with these interests. To view the list of faculty members, please see the table below or click here.
If you would like to be added to this list, please complete a short form with your information at: https://forms.gle/hKJwpt2bAvEjwz1c9
If you have any trouble with this, please contact us at [email protected]. The SGM SIG intends to update this list annually.

INTERNSHIP
In 2019, several SIG leaders worked together to survey APPIC internship sites about the training experiences they offer focused on specific populations (e.g., sexual and gender minorities, racial and ethnic minorities). The goal of the survey was to collect information that could help students identify internship sites that meet their training needs. In May and June of 2019, the survey was sent to representatives (e.g., training directors) from all of the internship sites listed in the APPIC directory. A total of 170 internship sites completed the survey.
It is important to acknowledge the following caveats and limitations:
1. This survey was not officially conducted by ABCT. Rather, it was conducted by leaders of the following SIGs: the Addictive Behaviors SIG; the Military Psychology SIG; the Obesity and Eating Disorders SIG; and the Sexual and Gender Minority SIG.
2. The data are not official statistics from internship sites. Rather, representatives (e.g., training directors) from internship sites responded to the questions to the best of their knowledge. In some cases, they consulted with other representatives from their internship site. Of note, some questions asked respondents to estimate percentages (e.g., the percentage of clients that their internship site serves in specific populations). These estimates should be considered "best guesses" and, as such, they should be interpreted with caution.
